Studio Maesani carried out a conservative restoration of ceiling decorations within a private residence in Milan.
The intervention involved the mechanical removal of whitewash (descialbo) from the surfaces, followed by the grouting of cracks and the repair of structural and missing gaps. The cleaning phase was executed using poultices with Japanese paper and demineralized water. The process was completed with color-matched grouting of the fine-grain plaster (intonachino) and full pictorial retouching of the entire decorative scheme.
