The conservative restoration intervention focused on the plaster supports and painted surfaces of the interior and exterior walls, as well as the vault of the octagonal structure located within the Monte del Prete Park in Ispra (Varese).
The building is officially protected under Legislative Decree 42/2004 (Articles 10.1 and 12.1), governing Cultural Heritage, and is situated within a designated landscape protection area according to the Ministerial Decree of 12/10/1962. The stratigraphic and architectural investigations conducted during the project confirmed the pavilion’s origins, dating back to the early 20th century.
The restoration adopted a conservative approach, structured through the following operational phases: pre-consolidation, removal of incoherent materials, cleaning, consolidation, grouting, and final pictorial integration.
