In addition to being the owner of her restoration studio, Milena Maesani serves as Technical Director within a collaborative project with Arch. Matteo Villa and his firm, Studio Villa e Vignoli. This partnership is dedicated to the recovery of existing building heritage, with a primary focus on Cultural Heritage.
This collaboration subsequently led to the founding of a new company, Behind Architecture srl, through which we develop and design specialized restoration interventions.
One of our recent studies focused on the Church of San Marino in Pavia. Originally a Lombard foundation dating back to the 8th century, the church still preserves significant Romanesque architectural elements. The most recent major intervention was the fresco on the central nave vault, executed in 1936 by the painter Cesare Secchi.
Our mandate involved extensive research, study, and the definition of a comprehensive restoration master plan for the entire building.
