Restoration of a 1920s Art Nouveau (Liberty style) building facade, featuring decorative cement ornaments and traditional plaster.
Our Studio performed specialized interventions including stuccoing, glazing (velatura), the restoration of missing elements, and partial structural reconstruction. The glazing was applied using a custom paint enriched with marble dust, specifically designed to seal micro-cracks. This finish provides a distinctive velvety texture, both visually and to the touch.
The project also extended to the interior and common areas:
- Palladiana Flooring: Reconstruction work on the internal courtyard’s marble Palladiana floor.
- Stained Glass: Restoration of the original Liberty-style stained glass, which was carefully removed, restored in our laboratory, and reinstalled.
- Stairwell: The walls were finished with a new linear decorative scheme, complemented by gold leaf chandeliers.
This building deserves special mention for its objective beauty; in 1925, it was awarded a Diploma of Honor by the Municipality of Milan as one of the city’s finest architectural constructions.
