Enso Studio by Milena Maesani executed a fine decorative intervention directed by Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia, for a prominent building project in Marseille, France.
The project features a 300-square-meter ceiling artwork created as part of the redevelopment of the Renault Michelet complex. An artwork that breaks down individualism and opens a new gaze upon the millennium, “Le vie del mare” was a collaborative four-handed creation by Milena Maesani and the painter Ilaria Di Meo.
The inspiration for the project was sparked when a canvas by Di Meo captured the eye of architect Alfonso Femia. The vortex of fish journeying through the sea served as a poetic source and intuition for the architect, who envisioned an immediate bond between Italy and France. This connection is embodied by the ultimate marine link between the two lands: the Mediterranean waters. From this vision, the aesthetic decoration and environmental reimagining of the space were brought to life.
