The Studio carried out the restoration of the ancient boundary wall of the historic Villa Catenacci De Wick in Locate Varesino. This 18th-century landmark was originally a summer residence for the Flemish De Wick family, later passing to the Catenacci family, who expanded the structure in the second half of the 19th century. Currently owned by the municipality, the property is a designated site of historical and artistic interest and serves as a venue for cultural events, exhibitions, and conferences.
The intervention focused on securing areas with detached plaster and restoring the pointing (stilature). The process included the cleaning of surviving fragments (lacerti), the mending of protective edges with fine-grain plaster (intonachino), and the integration of missing brickwork using cocciopesto (crushed brick) and specific aggregates.
Operational phases included biocide treatments and color-matched restoration of certain surface fragments where original whitewash layers emerged after cleaning with ammonium carbonate poultices. Due to the various historical periods the wall has witnessed, the surface composition is remarkably varied. However, the core of the project remained the systematic restoration of the plaster and the mortar joints.
