Studio Maesani carried out a restoration and decoration project on a 1920s period building located in Via Vanvitelli, Milan. The building is historically significant as it was part of the city’s first social housing projects, situated in what is now a vibrant university district. Milena and her team approached the project through three distinct operational phases.

The first phase focused on the decorative frieze under the eaves. The second involved the restoration of the decorative lunettes above the windows. In the third phase, the team worked on the decorative band: on the first side, a complete reconstruction (ex novo) was performed; on another facade, a reintegration project was carried out using pictorial retouching on pre-existing motifs. This allowed the newly created decorations to blend seamlessly into the original ones, ensuring aesthetic continuity.

Finally, restoration work was also performed on the exposed brickwork located beneath the windows.
