The activity began in 2003 with the sole presence of the owner, the restorer Milena Maesani. What is now Studio Enso was simply called Milena Maesani restauro e alta decorazione (Milena Maesani restoration and high decoration).
It has recently changed its form, name, and logo.
Initially Maesani operated as a single professional, but as time passed and the workload grew, she realized that her identity could not remain singular; the necessity to work with a staff and have people around her—with whom she had established a continuous and cooperative working relationship—was increasing. This is when the Studio was born. A collection of minds and people dedicated to a common project. The current name has become STUDIO ENSO di Milena Maesani. Ensō (円相) is a Japanese image that means circle.

It symbolizes enlightenment, strength, the universe, and is associated with the Japanese aesthetic ideal of beauty.
My colleague Daniela Bulgheroni and I coined this name after careful research, study, and an interesting brainstorming session that led to the final choice. We came to view this image as an evocative figure that fully represents us.
This symbol expresses the feeling with which we realize our projects, namely through the strength of a collective, the cohesion within what is our “universe.” We are a team of different people who, with multiple and varied characteristics, work in unison to create something beautiful.
The minimal choice of the logo represents the elegance with which we want to follow this path, and the softness and continuity of the circle are the expressive movement of our perpetual creative spirit.
